Insight Vacations, a global leader in premium guided vacations, has reported a rise in demand for escorted travels in India despite the slowdown in 2019. It announced 23% increase in sales in India this year.
“There is a swell in the demand for escorted travels in 2019 and we have already received booking requests for November- December, 2020. Nearly 60% of the travellers are from Delhi and Mumbai. Rest 40% demand has come from cities like Chandigarh, Jaipur, Chennai, Kolkata etc”, said Anthony Lim, Managing Director, Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold.
Dwelling on new travel explorations, Lim said, “Indian travellers prefer to experience new areas. South America, Japan, Scandinavia, Spain and Portugal have emerged to be the most popular destinations for luxury escorted journeys. “
He added, “Even young people in their early thirties prefer to have escorted journeys, these days. Young Indians are willing to spend $3000- $4000 annually on their travels”.
Talking about the demand for India from overseas tourists, he said, “We experienced growing interest from the USA and Australia for in-bound India travel. Delhi, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Kerala, Chennai are some of the appealing cities for tourists from across the world.”
