ISKCON Temple at Wave City organizes its 6th annual Jagannath Rath Yatra

ISKCON Temple at Wave City organized its 6th annual Jagannath Rath Yatra with an aim to unite all residents and express their devotion to Lord Jagannath. The procession started from Aditya World City Gate no. 1 and concluded at ISKON temple, Wave City. More than 1500 devotees took part in the chariot festival.

Speaking on the occasion, CJ Singh, COO of Wave City said, “The Rathayatra festival is a mass movement of ISKCON, enlightening people about the Krishna consciousness and, we at Wave Group believe in strong community living and wish to connect our residents with each other. This yatra is a step in the direction to solidify our beliefs and ensure our residents are connected with each other by participating in this auspicious occasion and seeking blessings for a happy and successful life”.

The four-hour yatra & festivities began at 6 pm and ended around 10 pm. The chariot was decorated with flowers, garlands, leaves, balloons and colourful ribbons.

Jagannath Rath Yatra is a popular festival which is celebrated with all traditional rituals on the Shukla Paksha Dwitiya Tithi of Ashadha month as per the Hindu calendar. According to the ancient scriptures, on this day, Lord Jagannath and his brother Lord Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, emerge from the 12th-century temple in Puri and ride the chariots to the Gundicha temple.
