Missile Barge Boat LSAM 18 (Yard 128) with Ammunition cum Torpedo Facility commissioned at Naval Dockyard

Missile Barge Boat LSAM 18 (Yard 128) with Ammunition cum Torpedo Facility built by M/s Suryadipta Projects Private Limited, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shipyard, Thane under the 11x Ammunition cum Torpedo Missile (ACTCM) project for the Indian Navy. Handed over to NAD (Karanja) at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai on 28 March 2024. This important ceremony was presided over by Commodore Vikram Bora, ND(MBI)/GM(Tech).

05 March between the Ministry of Defense and M/s Suryadeepta Projects Pvt. Ltd., Thane on the contract for the purpose of construction of missile barge boat LSAM 18 (Yard 128) with Ammunition cum Torpedo facility under the Torpedo cum Missile with 11x Ammunition (ACTCM) project. , was signed on 2021. The induction of these boats into the Indian Navy will accelerate the operational capabilities and duties of the Navy, thereby facilitating the transportation, loading and unloading of cargo/ammunition to Indian Naval ships both at dams and jetties and at external ports. -Disembarkation facility will be available.

These small ships are indigenously designed and built under the relevant naval rules and regulation of the Indian Shipping Register. Model testing of the barge boats was carried out at the Naval Science and Technology Laboratory, Visakhapatnam during the design phase. These barge boats are the proud flag bearers of the Make in India initiative of the Government of India.
