Hyderabad: Weapon system School started at Air Force Station Begumpet

Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary on Tuesday inaugurated the newly established Weapon Systems School (WSS) at Begumpet Air Force Station in Hyderabad. This comes after the approval of creation of a new Weapon Systems (WS) branch in 2022.

He said in a statement, “The new branch will have four streams; flight stream to operate weapons and systems in aerial platforms such as Sukhoi-30 MKI and C-130J; remote stream to operate remotely piloted aircraft; mission commanders and operators for surface-to-air and surface-to-surface weapon systems, and intelligence stream to handle space-based intelligence and imagery.”

This new training establishment has been created with the aim of reorganizing and transforming the Indian Air Force into a future-oriented force, which is a giant leap for the armed forces in general and the Indian Air Force in particular.
