Renovated NSTI in Mumbai inaugurated


Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Jayant Chaudhary inaugurated the renovated National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) at Sion, Mumbai yesterday. The Minister for Skill, Entrepreneurship, Employment and Innovation, Government of Maharashtra was also present on the occasion. Speaking at the inauguration of the new building, he said, “It is a moment of immense joy that this 60-year-old prestigious institute has now got a new building. This Indian Skills Institute is being built in partnership with the Tata Group.”

He said that this agreement will strengthen the leading role of NSTI Mumbai in skill based education. It will also improve the institute's ability to provide specialized training and skill development programs and help it strengthen its position in the field.

In recent years, NSTI Mumbai has invested heavily in renovation and upgradation of infrastructure of its administrative building and various sections. Apart from this, new machinery has been purchased through World Bank funding under STRIVE project. This has led to significant growth in the welder, motor mechanic vehicle and turner sections.
