The growing prominence of lightweight, browser-based gaming formats, particularly H5 games, was highlighted during deliberations at Adtech 2026 held at Yashobhoomi Exhibition Centre, New Delhi from 17-18 March.
The event brought together industry leaders, technology experts and digital stakeholders to discuss emerging trends shaping the future of advertising and user engagement.
H5 games, which run seamlessly on browsers without requiring downloads, are increasingly being adopted across mobile applications and websites. Their ease of access, low data consumption, and instant playability make them a highly effective tool for enhancing user engagement. Industry experts noted that integration of such interactive formats, including quizzes and gamified content, is enabling publishers to improve session duration, user retention and overall platform stickiness.
Speakers at the event also emphasized the growing role of gamification in digital advertising strategies. By combining entertainment with engagement, H5-based formats are emerging as a powerful medium for both user acquisition and sustained interaction.
In this context, industry participants highlighted the contributions of early adopters in building the H5 ecosystem in India.
Among them, Atmegame has been working in the space since its early stages, supporting publishers in understanding and leveraging this format. The company has collaborated with a large number of digital platforms globally to integrate gaming-led engagement solutions.
Highlighting the company’s role in this space, Pranav Agrawal, Director, Atmegame, said, “Atmegame entered the H5 ecosystem at a very early stage, when awareness around this format was still limited. Over the years, we have worked closely with publishers to demonstrate how interactive gaming content can transform user engagement and unlock new monetization opportunities.”
It was also noted that advancements in monetization technologies, including AdX-based advertising models, are enabling publishers to generate additional revenue streams while maintaining user experience. Such innovations are expected to further accelerate the adoption of interactive content formats.
As part of its expanding portfolio, Atmegame has introduced a new platform, Pudugame, which offers users an opportunity to engage with games and interactive content while accessing reward-based experiences. This reflects the broader industry shift towards integrating entertainment, engagement and incentives within digital ecosystems.
